Collection: On A Wire Series

On the Wire Series

In On the Wire, I distill the urban sublime into a quiet symphony of silhouettes and sky. Each composition finds its rhythm in the measured geometry of telephone wires and perching birds—figures rendered not in fussy detail but in bold, poetic contrast against expressive atmospheric backdrops.

From the broad impasto strokes of sky in pale, fractured blues to the molten oranges of a fading sun, the paintings evoke fleeting moments with cinematic stillness. Birds, often reduced to gestural forms, become markers of transience—meditative presences suspended in the liminal space between earth and ether.

There’s a compositional tension at play: the sharp diagonals of utility lines cut across soft fields of atmospheric color, setting up dynamic juxtapositions between control and chaos, form and freedom. At once stark and soulful, On the Wire captures a uniquely American lyricism—where everyday infrastructure becomes a perch for the poetic.
